Mr. Coates founded Homeland Energy in 2004 and serves as its President and Chief Executive Officer as well as Chairman of Homeland Uranium Inc. He is a graduate of King's College at the University of Western Ontario and has experience in government, investment management, communications and business development in the exploration and mining sectors.
Founder of Grove Communications Inc., Mr. Coates is an experienced consultant on strategic relationships, business development and communications to the junior mining sector. The first four years of his working career were spent as an investment manager with RBC Dominion Securities – Canada 's largest investment bank. He has been a volunteer director of numerous service organizations and an active fundraiser. Mr. Coates is a director of and advisor to several private and public companies.
Mr. Coates, a Canadian citizen, resides in London , England. A key strength is his comfort in dealing with all levels of government, as well as his strength in developing key "in country" relationships.
Mr. Griffis is the founder of Griffis International Limited (“GIL”), a private placement and corporate management firm based in Toronto , Canada . GIL is focused on emerging resources companies that require early – to mid-stage financing, located in West Africa and South America . Mr. Griffis also founded Pan African Uranium, which was acquired by Homeland in 2006 and resulted in the granting of eight mining licences in Niger to Homeland. Mr. Griffis is Chairman of Virgin Metals Inc. and has served as Chairman/CEO of several other public and private resource companies. Mr. Griffis was appointed to the board of directors of Homeland in February 2006 and became chairman in April of that year.
Mr. Griffis is a retired LCol. In the Canadian Air Force and was a member of the Snowbirds aerobatic squadron in 1973-74. He returned to be team leader during the years 1979-80 and worked hard on the public relations aspects of the team. Mr. Griffis was selected as Commanding Officer because of his “strong leadership qualities and flair for public relations,” qualities which now benefit Homeland Energy.
Mr. Griffis is a Canadian citizen residing in Toronto , Ontario . He will devote such time as is required in connection with the management of Chrysalis VII and completion of the Qualifying Transaction.
Daniel brings significant expertise in financial management, corporate M&A and capital management.
Daniel’s diverse background includes building early stage start-ups companies to working with some of Canada’s largest corporations.
Daniel has held senior financial roles in many industry sectors such as telecommunications, wireless technology, media, publishing, food manufacturing and oil & gas. Daniel’s M&A experience provides the necessary due diligence experience and strategic vision in evaluating investment opportunities. Daniel also leads Exclamation’s investor relations program.
Daniel’s entrepreneurial background along with his corporate experience with Canada’s industry leaders; Bell Canada Enterprises, Suncor and Weston Foods will be a valued asset for Exclamation’s investment team and assessing new business creations. Daniel is a Professional Engineer in the Province of Ontario and is also a MBA graduate of the Richard Ivey School of Business.
Mr. Sood has served as President and Chief Operating Officer of Lawrence Asset Management Inc., a Toronto-based private company which invests its capital in private and public companies, since May 2004. Mr. Sood has provided the direction, leadership and strategy for the Company's investing activities since 1998. He has broad experience in the financing of both public and private companies and has participated in all aspects of private equity investing. Mr. Sood is also a director of Carlaw Capital Corporation which completed its IPO on January 26, 2007 and announced its Qualifying Transaction with Nyah Resources on December 21, 2007. He was previously employed by a major international investment bank.
Mr. Sood received a Bachelor of Mathematics with distinction from the University of Waterloo in 1998.
Mr. Sood is a Canadian citizen resident in Toronto , Ontario . He will devote such time as is required in connection with the management of the Corporation and completion of the Qualifying Transaction.
Mr. McCutcheon was most recently Vice-Pesident and Partner at Lawrence Asset Management, a Toronto based investment management firm. He has broad experience in the financing of both public and private companies and previously directed all aspects of private equity investing at Lawrence Asset Management.
Mr. McCutcheon also previously served as a director of Chrysalis I and Chrysalis III.
Mr. McCutcheon practiced corporate and securities law from 1989 to 1992 in Toronto with Fasken Campbell Godfrey, the predecessor of the national law firm of Fasken Martineau DuMoulin LLP. Mr. McCutcheon received a Masters degree in International Management from The American Graduate School of International Management in 1993.
